This model is the very first in the collection of Caterpillar machines, built to date. It was carried out using the process of taking dimensional measurements on the real machine. Process which will be adopted for the realization of all the other models. This model is static with however all the manual functional kinetics.
Its realization required approximately 1000 hours
of work spread over four years.
The materials:
Zinc, steel, brass constitute the main materials because most of its parts are welded with tin and the metals mentioned lend themselves well to this.
Some parts, such as the front and rear decks, are cast in epoxy resin. The tires are "house" molded.
The yellow color is the true color of Caterpillar, the paint coming from the recovery of the fonts of pots at the company Bergerat Monnoyeur.
Except for a few nuts, profiles, tubes etc… this model does not include any commercial part.
